Dr. Ken “SKC” Ogbonnia is the Executive Vice-President of First Texas Energy Corporation. Ogbonnia coordinates the local and international business development activity for the company. He works closely with both the Executive team and Board of Directors to promote corporate integrity, efficiency, safety, costs savings, investment initiatives, and standard organizational ethics and principles. He has over 25 years experience in international business, advancing new strategies in consultancy, procurement, industrial technology, and organizational development. He had served in other leadership positions at First Texas Energy and other organizations; including Century Communications of America, where he was Vice-Chairman. He was an officer of the United Bank for Africa (UBA) and later at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), where he was a Branch Secretary of the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG). In addition, he was an industrial consultant to many organizations, including the International Energy Diaries, Index Engineering, and US communications giant Sprint Nextel Corporation, utilizing his innovative thinking and leadership skills to develop and sustain strategic business partnerships with Oil & Gas companies, such as Halliburton, Chevron, Shell Oil, KBR, FMC Energy Systems, Exxon Mobil, Valero Energy Corporation, and Reliant Energy.
Dr. Ogbonnia is also an adjunct professor and has taught leadership and international business at many US Universities. He currently teaches Global Business Strategies and Leadership at the Sneden Graduate School of Davenport University. Ogbonnia is a graduate of Texas Southern University with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology (BSc.); Master of Arts degree in Sociology (MA); and Masters of Public Administration Degree (MPA). He earned his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Applied Management and Decision Sciences (Leadership and Organizational Change) from Walden University. He is very active in the community and was a designated CER consultant for Oil & Gas companies in the Texas Gulf Coast during the Hurricane Katrina and Rita in the United States.
